GLENTHAM PARISH COUNCIL

 

Minutes of the Meeting of the Parish Council held in the Village Hall on    7/9/2023 at 7.30pm

 

Present:- Cllr S. Shaw, Cllr P. Smith, Cllr V. Smith. 

      In attendance: Cllr A. Duguid & Helen Pitman (Clerk).

      Visitors:  One.

 

1. Co-option of Councillors: Three vacancies remain but still no interest.

 

2. Apologies for Absence and Reasons Given:- Cllr A. Shaw.

 

3.  To receive declarations of interest in accordance with the 2011 Localism Act:-  None.

 

4. Notes of last meeting on 13th July 2023 to be approved as minutes:-

       The minutes were signed as a true record.  

 

5. Chair and Council’s Comments:-  None. 

 

6. Reports from County & District Councillors:- In his absence Cllr Bunney had sent a report. 

Cllr Duguid advised nothing to report from WLDC.

  

7. Crime & Vandalism:- No police report received. 

 

8. Clerk's Report on Matters Outstanding:- Nothing to report. 

 

9. Planning:- None.

 

10. Correspondence:- All previously circulated. 

 

11.  Finance & Accounts for payment:- 

Payments for authorisation: Resolved to pay: salary costs: £519.48; HMRC: £112.40; AJ Williams: £576; Wicksteed Leisure: £158.40; Blyton PC: £25. Resolved to renew insurance with AJ Gallagher at a cost of £793.55. 

 

12. To discuss expansion of the play park:- Agreed to install equipment for teenagers but would need screening/soundproofing. Cllrs Shaw and Smith to investigate and report back at next meeting. agenda

 

13. To discuss speed indicating devices for the village: Request has been made by one parishioner. Discussion took place and council’s feeling is that there are not sufficient complaints to justify spend of almost £6K. Parish Council will support any community fundraising initiatives at this time. 

 

14. To discuss naming request for lane leading to Greenwood Barn:- Council agreed to historic name of Newells Lane.

 

15. Items for next meeting:-  Co-option; budget. expansion of the play park.

 

      There being no other business the meeting closed at 8.15pm.
