GLENTHAM PARISH COUNCIL

 

Minutes of the Meeting of the Parish Council held on 2nd March 2023 in the Village Hall

Present:- Cllr A. Shaw (Chairman), Cllr S. Shaw,  Cllr P. Smith, Cllr V. Smith. 

                         In attendance: County Cllr S. Bunney, Helen Pitman (Clerk).

                        Visitors:  None.

 

1. Co-option of Councillors: No interest.

 

2. Apologies for Absence and Reasons Given:- None. Cllr R. Francis has resigned.

 

3.  To receive declarations of interest in accordance with the 2011 Localism Act:-  None.

 

4. Notes of last meeting on 26th January to be approved as minutes:-

  The minutes were signed as a true record. 

 

5. Chair and Council’s Comments:-  None. 

 

6. Reports from County & District Councillors:-  Cllr Bunney informed council that both LCC and WLDC have received more money from central government than expected. LCC will use this additional money for footpath, footway repairs and road traffic orders. WLDC has received £4.6 million from UK Shared Prosperity Fund, a lot of which will be allocated to rural areas in the form of community grants.

 

7. Crime & Vandalism:- PCSO’s report previously circulated. 

 

8. Clerk's Report on Matters Outstanding:- No further update on enforcement issue on A631;

Uneven surface on Bishop Norton Road has been assessed by LCC and whilst it has deteriorated they consider it does not require further action;

LCC’s contribution towards grass cutting in 2023 to be £317.40;

Responde from Anglian Water to request for funding towards the village hall road. No money forthcoming but are happy to assist with any volunteering in the village.

 

9. Planning:- 146294 land adj Highfield Cliff Barn, Norton Place: no objections/comments.

 

10. Correspondence:- WLDC election material for the noticeboards shared with councillors.

WI offer of knitted/crocheted poppies to decorate the war memorial gratefully accepted by council. Will need to confirm with the church as the clock is the memorial and therefore the poppies will need to decorate the church.

 

11.  Finance & Accounts for payment:- 

Resolved to pay: H. Pitman: £572.93; HMRC: £112.40; LALC: £15.60; Time Assured: £4944.

 

12. Update on refurbishment to the village hall road: Work to commence on 13th March. The clerk to meet with officers on 6th March to discuss.

 

13. Update on the church clock: The clock has been repaired. Problem was debris and dirt on mechanism. Final grant form has been completed and will be submitted asap to claim the grant funding. 

 

14. To discuss & resolve on flower tubs on the green: Bedding plants to be provided by Cllrs P and V Smith.

 

15. Items for next meeting: Date to be confirmed.
