GLENTHAM PARISH COUNCIL
Minutes of the Meeting of the Parish Council held in the Village Hall on 7/3/2024 at 7.30pm
Present:- Cllr S. Shaw, Cllr A. Shaw, Cllr S. Bunney, Cllr V. Smith.
In attendance: Helen Pitman (Clerk).
Visitors: None.
1. Co-option of Councillors: No interest. Clerk to advertise again on Signpost.
2. Apologies for Absence and Reasons Given:- None.
3. To receive declarations of interest in accordance with the 2011 Localism Act:- None.
4. Notes of last meeting on 18th January 2024 to be approved as minutes:-
The minutes were signed as a true record.
5. Chair and Council’s Comments:- None. Various matters were reported for clerk to report to the appropriate authorities
6. Reports from County & District Councillors:- Cllr Bunney gave information about funding available for EV charging points and footway repairs to encourage active leisure.
Cllr Duguid not in attendance to report from WLDC.
7. Crime & Vandalism:- Police stats have been circulated. There is to be another zoom meeting with the police in July.
An email received from a developer in the area regarding speeding in the village was discussed. Glentham was not included in the first phase of average speed cameras on the A631 but the parish council continue to lobby for inclusion in the next phase. In the meantime funding is the issue.
8. Clerk's Report on Matters Outstanding:- Nothing to report.
9. Planning:- Reserved matters application at The Willows – no response.
10. Correspondence:- Circulated. Request from resident for grant funding to be discussed at next meeting. agenda
11. Finance & Accounts for payment:-
Payments for authorisation: Resolved to pay: salary costs: £563.32; HMRC: £125.40
12. To discuss new play equipment:- Clerk informed council that the request for grant funding from WLDC has been turned down. Consultation to be undertaken and clerk will resubmit.
Council discussed that the play area could do with a spring clean. Clerk and Cllr Smith to contact potential contractors for quote.
13. To discuss church clock battery back-up:-: Defer.
14. To discuss planters on the green:- Planters to be painted by Cllrs S. Shaw and Smith. Council resolved on spend of up to £100 for new compost/bulbs. Cllr Smith to order.
15. Items for next meeting:- Co-option; church clock battery back up; expansion of the play park; grant request; speeding.
There being no other business the meeting closed at 8.40pm.
